F.P.T. Mini-Series Industrial Basket Strainers

Materials of Construction

Bodies

The Mini-Series, sizes 1/2" thru 2" are manufactured from thermoplastic materials. Strainers are rated for 150 PSI at 73 degrees F. Higher temperatures are allowed based upon material selection. FRP overwrap is not required for standard operating conditions, but is available for extremely critical service. Materials available are PVC, CPVC, Co-Polymer Polypropylene, PVDF and Halar.

Baskets

Unique slotted screen design as well as standard perforation screen baskets are utilized in the Mini-Series. Baskets are of the same material as body with options of stainless steel, Hastalloy C and/or Monel perforated or woven wire cloth configuration. Slot sizes from 0.008" are available. Standard perforations are: 1/32", 1/16", 1/8" and 3/16" holes.

Design

Ends

All inlets and outlets are integral to the body and are of the same material as wetted areas. Fluidtrol offers as standard socket or screwed ends. Flanged ends are also available.

Tops

Fluidtrol Mini strainers are supplied as standard with a knurledknob bolt threaded into a stainless body insert and are easily removed without tools. A flat viton gasket is employed as the main seal. For extremely critical service, a static "O-Ring" is available as a secondary seal.

Port Configurations

As with the larger size CLC strainers, the Mini-Series offers the designer the choice of "In-Line", "Offset", and "Boot". All units have a bottom side outlet drain. The Mini-Series strainers are readily adaptable for self-cleaning.

Pressure Drop

F.P.T. Mini-Series strainers are designed to offer the lowest practical pressure drop utilizing full flow ports. The open area of the basket averages 4 times the cross sectional area of the pipe. Accessories Pressure taps are available with any of the following:
